The American Samoan Governor, Lolo Matalasi Moliga, has chosen a new Chief Procurement Officer, following the sacking of the former officer for corruption.

Dr Oreta Mapu Crichton has been serving as Governor Lolo's senior policy advisor and her appointment became effective on Friday.
Dr Crichton also served on the staff of the former congessman, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, for decades.
Lolo says Dr Crichton brings a broad range of government experience to the position.
She replaces Tiotalaga John Kruse, who resigned in February after pleading guilty in the Federal Court to misappropriating federal funds for personal use.
