The governor Eloy Inos says public workers whose roles are vital are expected to go to work to ensure that all government buildings and equipment are secure.

The public school system has suspended classes for all public schools, telling students to stay home and staff that they do not need to report for work.

The storm is on track to pass between the CNMI's most southern island, Rota, and Guam.
