The organising committee for the 2015 Pacific Games says, with four weeks to go, only the finishing touches are left to apply to most of the venues in Port Moresby.
The bulk of facilities were scheduled to be handed over to organisers at the end of May, with a number of test events scheduled to begin next weekend.
Port Moresby 2015 CEO Peter Stewart says they're not quite there yet but it's the finish line is very much in sight.
"Many of the venues are almost finished now. Most of the work that's being done now is the final installation of some seats, painting, bit of landscaping around some of the venue areas so, from our perspective, the venues are pretty well finished. We're bumping in the things that we need to bump in and the contractors are finishing off the last bits that they need to finish off and moving their equipment out."
Peter Stewart says more than 180 thousand tickets have been sold for Pacific Games events so far, with 500,000 tickets available.
