Fiji coach Frank Farina says the performance of Oceania teams at the Under 20 Football World Cup is a big boost for the region's credibility.

Fiji created history with a stunning 3-0 victory over Honduras in their second group match while New Zealand drew with Ukraine and thrashed Myanmar 5-1 to advance to a last 16 showdown against Portugal.

Frank Farina says fans and officials in Oceania should be proud of the competitiveness displayed by the two local teams

"At this level it's does enormous things for Oceania. We were realistic and we knew that most probably if the World Cup was held anywhere else Fiji wouldn't have qualified but it was in New Zealand and Fiji got the chance to play there. I think for Oceania it's a real coup. It's a big thing that both teams have done well and improved the push for more spots at young world cups, like under 17s and under 20s".

Frank Farina says he's tipping Germany, who thumped Fiji 8-1 in their opening match, to go on and win the tournament.
