Wellington Phoenix have announced a 30-man squad that will travel to Fiji this week for a pre-season tour.

The Phoenix will play the Fiji national team and Phoenix Premiers will face the Fiji Under 23 team in four matches in Suva and Ba, beginning on Saturday.

The squad includes 14 contracted players, but excludes Fijian striker Roy Krishna, who will play for the Fijian national team against his club side.

A 30-man Fijian squad is currently in camp in preparation for the tour, which includes ten players from Fiji's Under 20 World Cup side.

A number of the squad will travel to Papua New Guinea next week to compete in the Pacific Games and Olympic football qualifiers.

Fiji national head coach Juan Carlos Buzzetti says they will play a full-strength team against the Phoenix and says it's a great opportunity for local players to compete against a professional team, and perhaps earn themselves a trial if they impress.
