Sprent Dabwido who is a former president of Nauru and Squire Jeremiah were arrested on Friday night.

Another opposition MP Mathew Batsiua who was arrested and bailed last week following the protests says the two men have been remanded at Nauru's correction centre and are due to appear in court for a bail hearing.

Mr Batsiua faces charges of disrupting the legislature and he says he expects Mr Jeremiah and Mr Dabwido to face similar charges.

Mr Batsiua says he is next due in court on July the 8th.
