Papua New Guinea have named their rugby league nines team for the Pacific Games, with 13 of the 15 players as well as coach Michael Marum coming from the PNG Hunters Queensland Cup side.

The two players who are not Hunters players - Silas Gahuna and Rex Yellon - were a part of PNG's Commonwealth Games team that won gold in Glasgow last year and competed at the Cabramatta Nines in Sydney early this year.

The PNG Hunters have a bye during the weekend of Nines competition on July the 11th and 12th.

The other countries competing are Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands and Solomon Islands.
