The search for Swiss yachtsman Laurent Bourgnon in French Polynesia's Tuamotu archipelago has officially been called off.

The Maritime Rescue Coordination Center says their aerial and maritime searches have been unsuccessful and more searching would be in vain.
The yachtsman went missing on Wednesday while diving near Toau Atoll.
