Vanuatu's parliament is to debate a motion of no-confidence against prime minister Sato Kilman on Thursday, following the latest supreme court ruling on parliamentary matters related to the motion.
The speaker Marcellino Pipite's appeal against the Supreme Court judgement that he illegally closed parliament earlier this month meant that the motion, which was to have been heard today, was postponed.
However the Chief Justice Vincent Lunabek told Pipite's legal team today that the court of appeal won't sit until mid-July to be able to hear the speaker's appeal.
The court has ruled that parliament should reconvene to debate the motion lodged by the opposition leader Edward Natapei against Mr Kilman on Thursday afternoon.

Sources with the government say it has the support of 29 MPs in the 52-seat parliament although Mr Natapei has told local media that if the government is confident about defeating the motion, it shouldn't be trying to avoid parliament.
