This comes after the Minister of Internal Affairs Hosea Nevu ordered the sacking of staff at the Vanuatu National Cultural Council, just three days after the Sato Kilman Government came to power.

The Daily Post Newspaper says the sacking included the director of the Cultural Centre, Lazare Asal, but Chief Tirsupe says the Minister can only take such action after consultation with the chiefs.

The paper says there was no consultation and no vacancies at the centre have been advertised.
