The Samoa government-owned Polynesian Airlines is seeking a six month United States federal waiver to operate American Samoa's domestic flights.
Polynesian has been operating domestic flights since last year under separate 30-day exemptions issued by the US Department of Transportation.
The current waiver expires this week.
In its new application Polynesian asks to be allowed to continue to carrying people, property and mail between the main island of Tututila and the Manu'a island group, for a six month period.

The American Samoa Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga has asked the federal government to approve Polynesian's request because the territory depends on the service.
