The Fiji government is warning exporters and importers to be wary of people posing as biosecurity agents.
It is also warning of unscrupulous behaviour by some Biosecurity Authority agents.
It says certain authorised agents are marking-up their services and imposing fees for payments already made.
Others are posing as agents of the authority and conning exporters and importers.
The government says some authorised agents are pocketing fees instead of turning them in to the Authority.
The authority is working with the Fiji Commerce Commission to combat the activity.
