Reports from American Samoa show that the threat from dengue is starting to subside.

The latest figures show 8 more people were suspected of having the disease in the second week of September, taking total numbers to 422 infected since the outbreak began four months ago.

Four people have died from the disease, with the last death more than two months ago.

While the number of dengue cases has slowed down the Department of health says residents should not let their guard down in protecting themselves and their families.
