Samoan youth put up tsunami warning signs

10:57 am on 28 October 2015

Fifteen young people in Samoa have started installing tsunami warning signs around Upolu as part of a youth job scheme.

The so-called Green Works Youth Contractors will install 78 signs under the scheme created by the International Labour Organisation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Samoa Red Cross.

An agreement signed between the ILO and the ministry, funded by Sweden, is part of an overall plan to try and increase the number of young people in employment in Samoa.
