Reports from Papua New Guinea say a vote of no-confidence in Prime Minister Peter O'Neill never came up when Parliament resumed yesterday.
The Post Courier reports hundreds of people who turned up early at the gates to parliament were denied entry as tight security control measures were imposed.
The Government led by the prime minister Peter O'Neill showed its numerical strength of 89 members and passed three pieces of legislation.

The paper reports at the Government caucus meeting, all party leaders including senior statesman Paias Wingti and Peter Ipatas pledged their support for Mr O'Neill.
The Opposition earlier said in recent weeks their support has been growing, though they would need 56 votes to remove Mr O'Neill.
