Philippines not keen on Australia's refugees

The Philippines says it will not accept any refugees sent by Australia if they are expected to live there permanently.

However, the President Benigno Aquino says he is considering an Australian government proposal to accept some refugees, but only if they were to transit to another country.

Earlier this month, Canberra said it was talks with the Philippines.

Australia has already struck a deal with Cambodia and given it millions of dollars but so far only four refugees held by Australia in Nauru have chosen to move there.
