Samoa's former police minister faces intentional damage charge

Samoa's former Minister of Police, Prisons and Fire, Ulu Vaomalo Ulu Kini, is being charged with one count of intentional damage which carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in jail.

The former ruling HRPP party MP for Faleata West constituency is the principal offender with four other defendants who are party to the offence.

The case was scheduled for hearing this week but the has to set another hearing date due to the unavailability of a key witness who is out of the country.

The former minister of police was charged after a family land dispute.
