A new political party has been set up to contest next month's election in Vanuatu.
The president of the Vanuatu New Vision in Development Party, Dudley Vanva, says none of the current political parties meets the welfare needs of the people in the islands.
He says it will focus on policies to develop and grow the economy.
Mr Vanva says up to now development spending has been too narrow with a focus on government to government involvement.
"Our main vision in the new political party is to implement some developments in our society. We have to create some other projects to help develop all the community throughout the islands."
Vanuatu goes to the polls for a snap election on January 22nd.
