The newly sworn in Northern Marianas governor, Ralph Torres, says he will continue the dreams of his predecessor, Eloy Inos, who died yesterday.

Mr Inos succumbed to complications from diabetes while in hospital in Seattle.

In a speech shortly after being sworn in as the CNMI's eighth governor, Mr Torres said he would continue to do what's right.

At 36, Mr Torres, who had been the lieutenant governor, is the youngest governor in the CNMI's history.

Under the CNMI constitution, the former Senate president Victor Hocog now becomes lieutenant governor.
