The Tautua Samoa party has kicked off the New Year by announcing the first four key policies the party will use to fight the March general election.

The leader, Palusalue Faapo II, says if his party becomes the next government, all under five-year olds will get free medical care including medical supplies.
Palusalue has also pointed out a Tautua Samoa government would establish a Medicare insurance programme to help people pay medical fees and other services provided by the Ministry of Health.
He says the ruling HRPP party has been in power for more than three decades and yet the public have suffered from high costs of all medical care.
The Tautua Samoa has also announced a $US25-million Education Fund to help all students' school fees from the primary level up to college and university.
The party has also promised to give a 100 percent increase for the old pensioners fund, if it becomes the new government.
Meanwhile Palusalue Faapo II says one other important task for a new government under his leadership would be the ban of all contractual works on Sundays.
He told reporters a government must work together with the National Council of Churches to uphold Christian principles and values.
