Tongan police have confiscated the laptop of the former Prime Minister and now the Speaker of Parliament as part of investigations into forged passports.
Kaniva Pacific reported the seizure and said no arrests were made.
Last month, the Prime Minister 'Akilisi Pohiva warned that senior officials and civil servants from former governments would be arrested and charged during the investigation.
Four government staff appeared in court in November charged with forgery and bribery in an attempt to obtain passports for a Chinese couple who are still being sought by police.
Last month, the police also arrested and charged a 65-year-old woman for forgery.
Thousands of passports have been sold in the past quarter of a century.
