Sport: Fiji's Volavola focused on Super Rugby

Ben Volavola is keen to add to his nine test caps but admits his immediate focus is on cementing a spot with the Crusaders Super Rugby team.

The 25 year old made his test debut for the Flying Fijians last year, and played in all four pool matches at the World Cup.

After three years at the Waratahs, Volavola has shifted to the Crusaders with the goal of filling the number ten jersey left vacant by World Player of the Year Dan Carter.

He said the chance to play for Fiji in the Pacific Tri-Nations in June would be welcomed but that's still a long way off.

"Right now I'm just really concentrating on the campaign with the Crusaders and if that opportunity comes then I will be grateful and blessed, but right now just concentrating on this campaign and if I do well then hopefully [I will] get an opportunity for the Fijian side."

Fiji, Tonga and Samoa will contest a new Tri-Series over the next two years, with the top two teams earning direct qualification to the 2019 World Cup in Japan.
