The Papua New Guinea Hunters rugby league team have reacted to their first defeat of the season, with coach Michael Marum ringing the changes for Saturday's clash away to the Mackay Cutters.

Thompson Teteh and Atte Bina have been dropped from the starting line-up, following Sunday's 28-20 defeat at the Sunshine Coast Falcons, with Adex Wera moving into the centres and William Aquila named to make his debut on the wing.

Stargroth Amean returns from injury to his favoured fulback position, Wartovo Puara starts at halfback in place of the injured Ase Boas, with Warren Glare coming in for his first start in the front row at hooker.

Justin Olam is unavailable as he will be graduating from university in Lae.

The Hunters are third on the Queensland Cup ladder while Mackay remain winless after four rounds.
