FBC News reports tents are also urgently needed in the Northern Division to provide shelter for villagers whose homes were completed destroyed.

Affected people in ravaged areas of Bua and Cakaudrove are in makeshift homes made from tarpaulins.

The Commissioner Northern, Jovesa Vocea, said a request for tents has been put to the National Emergency Operation Centre.

He said the tents are expected to come in this week and this will then be distributed.
