Solomon Islands futsal coach Juliano Schmeling says it's a "miracle" the country will finally get a proper facility to develop the sport in the country.

FIFA has pledged financial support for the construction of a new Futsal court in Panatina in Honiara.

The news comes almost two months after the Kurukuru won their fifth straight Oceania crown to qualify for the World Cup in September.

Following that triumph the Solomon Islands Government pledged to build a proper facility.

FIFA's Development Committee has now approved financial support for the project, under the framework of the FIFA Challenger Program and Juliano Schmeling said it's a big deal.

"This is a miracle for us. For Solomon Islands as a country it's a miracle - they are dreaming for that - so it's big big news. It will make a lot of difference - not just for the national team but for the whole development programme, for the kids, their schools (because right now) we don't have the facilities to host any tournaments."

Juliano Schmeling said the Kurukuru have been back in training for the past month and hope to play between 10 and 15 games prior to the World Cup in Colombia.
