A French presidential hopeful, Alain Juppe, is expected to visit New Caledonia and French Polynesia in the second half of July.
Mr Juppe is seeking the presidency next year as a candidate of the centre-right Republicans, formerly the UMP.
Tahiti's daily newspaper reported he would be in New Caledonia from July 19th to 22nd and in French Polynesia from July 23rd to 26th.
Mr Juppe is a former foreign and former prime minister and the current mayor of Bordeaux.
The French Pacific territories traditionally vote for France's centre-right parties.
