The airline aimed to operate its Airbus A333 for the inaugural flight on July 6 into Saipan.

This would bring to nine the number of major carriers flying into the Northern Marianas.

The low cost carriers, Jin Air of South Korea and Philippine Airlines Express, launched direct flights to Saipan from Seoul and Manila earlier this month.

Asiana Airlines, Delta, Jeju Air, Sichuan Airlines, China Eastern, and Dynamic Airways also fly to the CNMI.

The territory is a popular destination for visitors from China and South Korea.
