Body remains found on Fiji beach undergo DNA tests

10:10 am on 6 July 2016

Reports from Fiji say body parts found on a well known beach will undergo DNA testing to see if they are related to remains found earlier.

Fiji police say they are continuing their inquiries after the new discovery on Natadola beach yesterday.

The police's chief of intelligence and investigations, Luke Navela, said the discovery was made by a man who came across the remains while he was walking along the beach.

The body parts were wrapped in a similar manner to the body parts found last week at the same location and confirmed to belong to a missing Russian couple.

Yuri Shipulin and his wife Natalia were reported missing last month.
