The trial against the owner and captain of the ill-fated Rabaul Queen inter-island ferry in Papua New Guinea has resumed today in Kokopo.

Rabaul Shipping managing director Peter Sharp and the Rabaul Queen's captain Anthony Tsiau are on trial over the 2012 sinking of the passenger vessel in which at least 170 people died.
The trial started in April after Mr Sharp and Mr Tsiau had pleaded not guilty to the charges of manslaughter and for sending an unseaworthy vessel out to sea.
A total of 52 people, including survivors, relatives of those who perished and technical experts had testified against the two men since the trial began.
The Post Courier reported the trial is expected to continue for another two weeks, with more witnesses from Lae, Kimbe and Bougainville to be called to give evidence this week.
