The Papua New Guinea Hunters beat the Burleigh Bears 30-20 in Port Moresby to extend their winning streak at the National Football Stadium to 10 matches.

The Hunters led 14-10 at halftime through tries from Adex Wera, Ase Boas and Bland Ababu.

Boas scored his second try early in the second half and added two conversions and a penalty for a match haul of 14 points.

The Hunters remain unbeaten on home soil this season while Burleigh have now lost two matches on the bounce.

The Redcliffe Dolphins leapfrogged the Bears into top spot on the Intrust Super Cup ladder with a 28-22 victory away to Easts Tigers.

The Hunters are now just two points off top spot and one point behind Burleigh with three regular season games remaining.

The top two finishers earn a week off in the first round of the playoffs.
