The Cook Islands parliament, which has met just briefly this year, is to resume on September 12th.
The Finance Minister Mark Brown told Radio Matariki that the government is endeavouring it has all its MPs in Rarotonga for the meeting, as they have to be careful with their numbers.
The ruling Cook Islands Party has a one seat margin.
Mr Brown said the Select Committee report on the controversial issue of purse seining in the Cook Islands waters is to be tabled at the next sitting
Meanwhile, a by-election in the Arutanga-Nikaupara-Reureu electorate of Aitutaki has been set for October 13th after the seat was declared vacant following the conviction of former MP Teina Bishop on corruption charges.
