An application challenging the Fiji Government's selection of the Fiji Sun as the only newspaper carrying government advertising this year is to go to a hearing.

This comes after the High Court in Suva dismissed the Attorney General's office appeal to have the application struck out before the full hearing.

The Fiji Times hopes to quash the decision to select the Fiji Sun as the government's "approved print media " for 2016.

It contends the decision is unlawful and in breach of the Procurement Regulations.

The full hearing of the challenge is set for September 23rd.
