The American Samoa Republican party and local Trump campaign say they do not condone the language used by the party's presidential candidate Donald Trump.

In a leaked recording from 2005, Mr Trump talked about how he tried to have sex with a married woman and how "you can do anything" to women "when you're a star".

The chairman of the Trump Campaign in American Samoa, John Raynar, said the local party and Trump campaign do not condone the language used but are pleased he offered an unqualified apology during his debate with the Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Mr Raynar said because American Samoans have no electoral votes, neither the party nor the local Trump campaign plays a role in the election.

He said the only way the party in American Samoa would be further involved in the national election is if there were a vacancy on the ticket, which does not appear likely.
