The Australian airline Qantas has started a daily service to Papua New Guinea.

The Brisbane to Port Moresby route will be serviced by one of Qantas' 174-seat B737- 800 aircraft.

Previously, Qantas ran three flights per week to PNG from Cairns.

It says changing to daily flights to PNG will better serve the business market, maximising customers' connections to New Zealand, Pacific Islands, and North America.

Qantas and PNG's national carrier, Air Niugini, have agreed to continue codesharing across all Australia-PNG routes.
