1:48 pm on 2 November 2016

The Niue rugby league team is eying a series clean sweep against South Africa overnight.

The Rock conceded two early tries but recovered to win the first test 50-22 in Pretoria at the weekend.

Head coach Brendan Perenara said the scoreline did not reflect how difficult the game was.

He said it was crucial they adapt to the local conditions and officials.

"Just the way they play over here - they've got their own refs here and just trying to adjust to them from a lot of our guys playing to the Australian refs," he said.

"Hopefully we get the win on Wednesday - we'll get six (world rankings) points over here so it will be worth the trip coming over. Hopefully we get the next three points and be climbing the rankings, it will be good for Niue Rugby League."

Brendan Perenara said the team is carrrying a couple of injuries and niggles from the first test but hope to get everyone on the field in time for kickoff.
