American Samoa election results certified

The American Samoa Election Commissioner says no challenges had been filed when the 7 day challenge period which ended Wednesday evening.

Therefore Commissioner Uiagalelei Dr Lealofi Uiagalelei has certified the results of the November 8 poll.

All of the results announced just after the poll remain the same except for 1 additional vote added to several of the candidates.

The incumbent governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga and his deputy Lemanu Peleti Mauga easily garnered more than half the vote.

In the US Congressional race, the incumbent Aumua Amata Radewagen won in a landslide.

In the local House of Representatives race, five incumbents lost their seats, including Maugaoali'i Sipa Anoai who lost by just one-vote to the former House member Steve Leasiolagi.
