Police in the Northern Marianas are investigating a case of alleged police brutality on Saipan after a video went viral on social media.
The video purportedly showed a police officer using a baton to beat a person on the ground beside an overturned car on Friday.
The Department of Public Safety said an investigation was underway.
Police say patrol units were involved in a 40-minute car chase last Friday evening that ended with the arrest of a driver and his passenger.
