The Royal New Zealand Airforce says three i-Kiribati fishermen who had been missing since last week have been found.
The men were located and uplifted by a passing fishing boat.
They had been missing from the western Kiribati island of Tarawa and were due home a week ago.
The RNZAF yesterday despatched a P-3K2 Orion to help with the search at the request of Fiji's Rescue Coordination Centre, which is responsible for the search area.
A locally based aircraft or boat was not available.
The Orion and crew are on their way back to base at Whenuapai in Auckland.
