Dengue cases rise in Vanuatu

Thirty-four people are confirmed to hvae dengue fever in Vanuatu, while a further 119 people are suspected of being infected.

The Director of Public Health, Len Tarivonda, said the number of cases continues to rise.

He said that of the confirmed cases, three people have been admitted to Vila Central Hospital for treatment while the rest are being managed at home.

Mr Tarivonda said most of the cases are in the capital, Port Vila, but dengue fever has the potential to spread to other parts of the country.
