Samoa hosts Green Climate Fund board

The Green Climate Fund board is meeting in Samoa, the first time the body has met in the Pacific.

The Green Climate Fund considers applications for financial help from small island states affected by climate change.

Samoa's Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi said having the meeting in Samoa would allow the board to experience the realities, challenges and commitments faced by countries in the Pacific.

Nine new funding proposals are being considered at the meeting which concludes tomorrow.
