The Post Courier reports Philemon, commonly referred to as OP by many friends and colleagues, was one of the longest serving editor-in-chief at the Post-Courier and a veteran journalist.

He passed away over the weekend at the Port Moresby General Hospital.

It's understood he had been suffering from cardiovascular disease and had been under medication.
