The film industry brought an estimated $US20 million into Fiji's economy last year.

The chief executive of Film Fiji, Dallas Foon, told the FBC that the 56 productions the country hosted last year generated about $US58 million in new economic activity.

Mr Foon said interest in bringing film productions to Fiji had grown since a 47 percent film tax rebate was introduced.

He said his organisation was in discussions about bringing even more productions to Fiji this year.
