Tonga economy in positive state - central bank

The Tongan economy appears to be in a positive state according to the country's central bank.

The National Reserve Bank of Tonga says GDP growth for 2016/17 has been upgraded to 3.6 percent.

Foreign reserves are high enough to cover nearly ten months of imports and the annual inflation rate of 6.1 percent is expected to fall to 4 percent at the beginning of next year.
