Former Tongan representative boxer Junior Fa made light work of American Keith Barr on his US debut.

Fighting on the Deontay Wilder vs Gerald Washington undercard, the 27-year-old secured a third round knockout in Alabama to take his record to 10-0, seven by way of knockout.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist dropped Barr once in the second round and twice in the third, before referee Flynn Gerald waved off the fight.

Fa took to his Facebook page to thank his supporters.

"I'd like to thank my team, my awesome team: turned out last night [and] we got the job done," he said.

"[I'd like to] thank my coach: we've had a long two weeks here preparing and the night came last night and we did a good job I thought, so that was a good job well done.

"I'd like to thank my family for coming up from Utah. That was a really good experience just to have them coming here, even though I'm away from home."

Fa said it was a great feeling and he's looking forward to seeing his family and children after two weeks away.
