Fiji's Supervisor of Elections is appealing to the country's highest court in a dispute over the eligibility of candidates for the last election.

The matter first came to court just before the 2014 polls when the Electoral Commission sought a declaration that the supervisor Mohammed Saneem had erred.

The court decided in favour of Mr Saneem.

In November last year the Court of Appeal overturned that decision.

The Electoral Commission says it has now received appeal documents filed in the Supreme Court by the elections supervisor and it's in the process of finalising its representation in regard to the appeal.
