American Samoa Fono replacement underway

American Samoa's Fono is being pulled down as a building project gets underway.

The 40-year-old fale shaped building is to make way for a new building to house the territory's legislators.

The replacement of the Fono has been on the books for the past 10 years.

The Senate was temporarily relocated to the Fono guest house with the House to sit in the Lee Auditorium in the interim.
