Tahiti beat Poland 8-4 to reach the knockout rounds at the Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas.

Raimana Li Fung Kuee, who scored the winning goal against Japan in their previous match, opened the scoring in the second minute of the match.

The Tiki Toa raced out to a 4-0 lead after the first period and were 6-0 in front midway through the second spell, before Tomasz Lenart finally got the European champions on the board in the 22nd minute.

Poland added three more goals in the space of seven minutes to cut the deficit to two before Heiarii Tavanae and Raimana Li Fung Kuee scored to put the result beyond doubt.

Tahiti finished second in Group D behind South American champions Brazil, who beat Japan 9-3 in their final group match.

The Tiki Toa have now reached the quarter finals at the past three World Cup tournaments.
