Cooks ministries to be questioned over increased fees

Fees being charged by two Cook Islands government ministries will come under the scrutiny of Parliament's Public Accounts Committee tomorrow morning.

The committee will question the head of Foreign Affairs and the Principal Immigration Officer on fees Immigration requires foreign workers to pay.

The Secretary of Justice will also be asked to answer questions about the increase in the ministry's fees for land searches and other services.

Some Justice Ministry charges increased by as much as 300 percent this year.

This sitting will be open to the public and media.
