Former Fiji Prime Minister and SODELPA Party Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka says a government led by his party would review all politically motivated travel bans imposed since 2006.

Mr Rabuka said the travel bans were a vindictive measure and sometimes enforced in defiance of the court.

He said there was no place in a free and democratic Fiji for these kinds of vindictive actions.

Mr Rabuka said eminent former citizens like Professor Brij Lal, and his wife, newspaper executives Russell Hunter, Evan Hannah, former President of the Court of Appeal Justice Gordon Ward, and others had fallen foul of the government and been branded as "prohibited immigrants" on the grounds of being threats to national security.

The comments come as SODELPA's Usaia Pita Waqatairewa struggles to remove an immigration ban placed on him.
