A 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit northwest of Tonga early this morning.

The US Geological Survey reported the quake hit 200 km northwest of the Kingdom, at a depth of 40km at about 5.45am.
A spokesperson from Red Cross International said Tonga wasn't heavily affected and no damage or casualties were reported.
